PERU, MEXICO LONG BEACH JANUARY 2009 FINAL DAYS

MONDAY, JANUARY 26

The final day of my trip into Latin America ended with a couple of early morning flights—first from San Luis Potosi to Dallas, then on to LAX. I will spend the next couple of days in Long Beach at Foursquare’s annual Executive Council Summit, a gathering of all supervisors and superintendents (nearly 500 people). My flights were uneventful, and I was so tired on the 6:50 flight out of Mexico that I fell asleep before it took off, and didn’t wake up until we were airborne. I’m so glad God has graced me with the ability to sleep well on planes!

This series of meetings in Long Beach lasts until Wednesday evening when I’ll fly home. The focus of our time in Long Beach is the district consolidation that has been planned these last few months. We will go from about 55 districts in the current model to 14 districts. Our leaders are going to roll out the details of the change, and we will move into our collective future.

I am so happy that our new supervisor, Harriet Mouer is a long-time friend and a woman I respect immeasurably. We are ready to support her and the work God will give her to do for us.
